Seventeen-year-old goalkeeper Dymond Daniel is poised to write her name into Dominican football history as she becomes the youngest-ever captain of the senior women’s national team.

Daniel will lead Dominica onto the field this Saturday when the national side opens its Concacaf World Cup qualifying campaign against regional powerhouse, Jamaica, in St. Lucia.

Daniel described the leadership position as an unexpected but accepts the responsibility placed on her.
