Twenty senior prison officers will be better equipped to take on leadership and administrative responsibilities following a three-day specialised management training programme.
Superintendent of Prisons Jeffrey Edmund says the initiative forms part of the prison service’s succession planning strategy and is designed to prepare officers for senior roles over the next several months and years.
The training sessions were held at the Jimmit Emergency Shelter.

Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Prisons, Jeffrey Edmund, added that the initiative will not end with senior officers.
He also indicated that Ladder Ministries plans to support inmate rehabilitation through literacy and educational programmes.
