A call for renewed national commitment to building a fully inclusive society, as Dominica joins in the observance of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Her Excellency Sylvanie Burton, has called for renewed national commitment to building a fully inclusive society, as Dominica joins the global community in observing the 33rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities today.

Speaking in an address to the nation, the President emphasised that the annual observance is a reminder of the country’s responsibility to safeguard the rights, dignity, and full participation of persons with disabilities in every aspect of Dominican life.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities is being observed under the theme, “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress”.
