A series of consultations on electoral reform begin

General Counsel of the OECS Dwight Lay has praised the authorities in Dominica for convening a series of consultations to discuss the Sir Dennis Byron report on electoral reform.

Mr. Lay, who is among 4 high ranking officials here to monitor the consultations, says the initiative can be an example for other member states of the OECS.

The consultations opened at the State House conference center last night for Dominican lawyers.

Meantime senior Counsel Tony Astaphan says the time has come for Dominicans abroad to be given the right to vote in general elections.
