National athlete Addison James says he is hoping to continue riding the momentum as he prepares for the CARIFTA Games and the World Athletics under-20 championships.
James earned a spot in the World Games over the weekend.
He threw an impressive 69.36 meters in the javelin competition at the JAAA CARIFTA Trials, well above the qualifying standard for the world games at 68.50 meters.
The World Championships for under-20 will take place in August in Oregon, USA
In the meantime, there were no new qualifiers after the final CARIFTA qualifiers on Sunday at the Geneva playing field.
Khaarim Jno Baptiste, however, successfully established a new record in the boys under 18 high jump, achieving a height of 1.87 meters.
This weekend, Dominican athletes will have an additional opportunity to qualify for the CARIFTA Games in Martinique.
