Dominican athlete Addison James has secured qualification for the 2026 CARIFTA Games.

James booked his spot with a throw of 57.10 metres at the Central Hurdles, Relays, and Field Events Meet, continuing his impressive form on the regional athletics circuit.

His qualification brings Team Dominica’s total to four qualifiers so far for the 2026 CARIFTA Games, which will be hosted in Grenada.

Speaking after his qualification, James said he is proud to have earned a place at the 2026 Games and is motivated to compete at a high level.

James, who won gold for Dominica at last year’s CARIFTA Games in Trinidad and Tobago, says he is feeling confident heading into this year’s competition. He also noted that the upcoming Games will mark his final CARIFTA appearance, making the qualification even more meaningful.
