Attorney General stands behind Prime Minister having the power to announce general elections date of choice

Attorney General Levi Peter has defended a section of the Constitution which gives the Prime Minister the power to announce general elections at a date of his choice.

There have been calls for a fixed date for general elections in Dominica.

Mr. Peter told the consultation on electoral reform last night that the situation applies in other Commonwealth countries.
