Bombers and Marigot Share Spoils in Six-Goal Thriller at Possie Cup Opener

The Roosevelt Skerrit Bombers and Marigot FC had to share the points in the opening match of the Wenham-Sheppard Possie Cup Invitational at the Benjamin’s Park last night.

Bombers played for over 70 minutes with 10 men after Vincent Joseph was sent off having received a 2nd yellow in the 19th minute.

Despite being down a man, they still took a 3-1 lead into the half, but marigot took advantage of the extra man in the end the game ended in a 3-3 draw.

Davone George got two goals, while the bombers also benefitted from an own goal, while Beron Abraham and Raheem Bazil scored for Marigot.

The tournament is scheduled to continue tonight with Calibishie FC taking on North side FC.

The Wenham Sheppard Possie Cup Invitational is a 6-team tournament targeting the DFA clubs based in the north.

Group A comprises

Roosevelt Skerrit Bombers FC, Marigot FC, and BAA Sharks United FC.

Group B comprises

DFA League champions Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC, Calibishie FC and North Side FC.
