Interim Head Coach of the Men’s National Football Team, Kurt Herd, states that although losing goalkeeper Jerome Burkard is a significant setback, it creates a chance for Donte Newton to rise to the occasion.
Burkard, who has been starting in goal since Glenson Prince’s retirement, will not be available for personal reasons for the upcoming CONCACAF Series in March.
Herd states that Burkard’s absence will allow the other goalkeepers a chance to prove themselves as Dominica’s top choice.
Herd states that positions on the team are completely available, and now it is up to the 16 chosen players to strive for a place in the playing 11.
