CBSS Crush DGS by Innings and 173 Runs as Burton Hits Century, Joseph Claims Eight Wickets

Aiden Burton registered the 3rd century of the Sports Division Secondary Schools Under-20 cricket tournament and Dylon Joseph took 8 wickets as the Castle Bruce Secondary School (CBSS) won by an Innings and 173 runs over the Dominica Grammar School (DGS) as that tournament continued Tuesday at the Jolly John’s Park.

Dominica Grammar School batting first were bowled out for 10 runs. Dylon Joseph picked up 5 wickets for 2 runs, including a hat-trick. Aiden Burton claimed 2 wickets for 1 run and Jeremiah Thomas had 2/2.

Castle Bruce Secondary School in their turn posted 235/4 declared with Aiden Burton hitting an unbeaten century. He scored 154 not out, Kenny Valmond 31, and Derwin Benjamin 25.

Bowling for the Dominica Grammar School, Justin Bellot took 4/68.

DGS in their 2nd innings were bowled out for 52. Tylone Theophile scored 20 and Shanon Alexander chipped in with 10. Vince Darroux took 3 wickets for 4 runs, Dylon Joseph bagged 3 for 11, and Aden Burton 2 for 3.

The Castle Bruce Secondary School won by an innings and 173 runs.
