Corbette: Dominica Police Force to Go Fully Digital in Coming Weeks

Acting Chief of Police, Lincoln Corbette

Acting Police Chief, Lincoln Corbette says the Dominica Police Force is set to become a fully digitalized unit within the next few weeks.

Speaking at the Police Awards Ceremony on Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, Corbette said the move toward digitalization will allow the police to respond more effectively to crime and better serve the public.

He emphasized that enhanced technology will strengthen operational efficiency and improve overall policing capabilities. “This year as we move along we will see the adoption of a digitalized police force whereby all our record-keeping will be digitalized and make it much more easier to serve the public. To this end, we have received all the necessary equipment and training will soon commence to be followed by full implementation of this program,” Acting Chief of Police, Lincoln Corbette said.

Mr. Corbette also noted that police training has increased in recent times, ensuring officers are better prepared to operate in a modernized, technology-driven environment.

“Over the years we have seen a marked increase in the number of trained police officers. For this year so far, we have trained in excess of two hundred officers in various fields to include I.T, cybercrime, tactical, criminal, leadership, marine time, and community policing courses to name a few,” the top cop noted.
