DASPA: Measures are on Stream to Accommodate Cruise Ship Passengers

With Dominica’s Cruise Ship Season expected to reopen in June 2021, the Dominica Air and Sea Port Authority (DASPA) plans to implement stringent measures to safely accommodate cruise passengers on island.

Chief Executive Officer of DASPA Benoit Bardouille told the DBS Talking Point a new Health Screening Area will be established on the pier, to ensure passengers are screened as they disembark vessels.

Persons on pre-sold/organized tours, however, will be allowed in COVID Certified areas.

The Port will also establish a safe –zone for cruise passengers who are unable to access pre-sold tours in the Bay Front area, where Vendors will be allowed to operate under certain guidelines.

Bardouille assured citizens that the Authority is working to limit the contact of cruise passengers to the local population.
