Disaster vulnerability reduction project to deploy new state of the art hydro met network

Plans are well underway for the construction of a new Met Office in Jimmit.

That’s according to the Project Coordinator at the Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project Colin Guiste.

The Office will be located next to the Office of Disaster Management.

Guiste has revealed that the tendering process is already underway for the construction of the new facility.

He also says a new robust system will be deployed, which will enable Dominica to monitor weather events.

Meantime the DVRP has been actively engaged in a number of other construction activities post Hurricane Maria.

Communications Specialist at the DVRP Nadette Langford says a number of immediate works have begun along the East Coast Road Network.
