Dominica becomes first CARICOM country to sign on to Arise Network

Dominica is the first CARICOM country to sign on to the Arise Network.

The Arise Network is a private sector led initiative of the United Nations Office of Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) being implemented by the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC).

This network focuses on implementation of the disaster risk reduction goals to include reduction of mortality and economic loss due to disasters.

President of the DAIC Kira Thompson Aird addressed the launch on Thursday morning.
