Dominica is contributing one million dollars towards relief efforts in St Vincent.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit on his Annou Pale program.

“I want to inform the nation that last week I authorized a donation of EC $1 million dollars to the Government and people of St Vincent, in response to the volcanic eruption,” Mr. Skerrit stated.

The Dominican leader said he was happy to have been in a position to make such a contribution to the response efforts of the Government and people of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mr. Skerrit said Dominica has also been making other contributions, and encouraged Dominicans to contribute as well.

“In addition to that, we’ve been supplying a lot of water and we are urging Dominicans to continue to make their contributions in the little or big way that they can towards this effort to our brothers and sisters in St Vincent,” he added.
