The Executive of the Dominica Labour Party has strongly condemned the blockage of the Salisbury section of the E. O. Leblanc Highway earlier this month.
The incident took place on May 22nd where the road was blocked with the burning of debris and vehicles.
The DLP at its national executive meeting held on the weekend has also condemned the throwing of stones at the members of the general public and at the police who came to restore order.
The DLP meantime commended the patience of the Dominica Police Force and is urging them to spare no effort in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Meantime the Labour Party has also endorsed the decision of the Political Leader, and prime minister Roosevelt Skerrit, to adjourn the last sitting of parliament without further consideration of the remaining items on the order paper last week.
Parliament was adjourned Sine Die due to security concerns.
The DLP in its statement said that they were concerned with the orchestrated build up of supporters of the opposition United Workers Party and the threat of violence, the possible loss of life and the destruction of state property.
