Dominica Receives Monetary Commitment For Geothermal Plan

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says Dominica has received a commitment from the United Kingdom (UK) for about ten million dollars to go towards the geothermal development plan.

He made the disclosure at a press conference this morning.

He also says negotiations are ongoing with international financial institutions that are interested in providing Dominica with the additional financing required for the geo-thermal plant.

The Geothermal Resource Development Bill will go before Parliament next week.

The Prime Minister says Government is confident it will have the ability to attract a highly concessionary rate in respect to the financing of the plant.
