Head coach of the Dominica Canoe team Dion Laurent says securing 2 medals at the pan American canoe federation canoe sprint camp will help serve as motivation for more athletes to get into the sport.
Dominican athlete Jealan Samuel secured a gold medal and Hallie Francis a bronze at the event which was held in Mexico on the weekend.
The camp formed part of preparations for the 2023 CAC Games.
