Dominican Has a New Permanent Representative to the United Nations

Former Parliamentarian, Her Excellency Loreen Bannis-Roberts is the new Ambassador/Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations.

She presented her credentials to the United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-moon in New York on Monday August 22, 2016.

Ambassador Bannis-Roberts reiterated Dominica’s strong commitment to the United Nations and assured the UN Secretary General of her fullest support in helping his agenda for Climate Change and Sustainable Development.

Prior to her appointment as UN Ambassador, Mrs. Bannis-Roberts served as Member of Parliament for the Castle Bruce Constituency; Parliamentary Secretary and Minister of Government.

Ambassador Bannis-Roberts, who succeeded His Excellency Dr. Vince Henderson, is the first female Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations in New York.
