Consultant In the Ministry of Social Services Martin Anthony says under the new maintenance act parents have the equal rights and responsibilities to maintain a child.
Dominica’s new Maintenance of Children Act for was passed in parliament in April 2023.
Anthony says the act also ensures that government plays its role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
