The Cabinet on Sunday approved an increase in the number of people allowed to attend church service, weddings, and funerals to 25.

Strict adherence to physical distancing guidelines and other safety protocols must be followed.

Cabinet said senior government officials have met with church leaders and discussions about the resumption of regular, in-person services are ongoing.

The amendment to the Environmental Health services COVID 19 Regulation, SR and O, 26 of 2O21 will take effect today.

The cabinet has also made amendments to the opening hours for businesses.

A business place can now operate within 6 am-9 pm Monday to Saturday and 6 am-6 pm on Sunday, meantime, Gas stations will open daily from 6 am to 9 pm.

The cabinet also stated that new protocols could be approved for the reopening of gyms, bars, gaming establishments, and dining at restaurants.

The government of Dominica reminds the public to practice all protective measures to prevent COVID- 19 transmission, including the wearing of masks, washing of hands, safe respiratory practices, physical distancing, and sanitation of frequently used surfaces.

Citizens have also been advised to get tested to ascertain their COVID 19 status.
