Dominica’s new Ambassador to the U.S Officially Commences Tour of Duty

Dominica’s new Ambassador to the United States of America and the Organisation of American States Dr. Vince Henderson has officially commenced his tour of duty as Head of Mission at the Embassy of Dominica in Washington D. C.

He presented his credentials to the U.S State Department and the OAS Secretary General on Monday.

At Monday’s forum, Ambassador Dr. Henderson outlined key areas of mutual cooperation which he will continue to pursue particularly in the areas of geothermal energy, climate change and initiatives in Oceans management and preservation of our water systems.

He also provided an overview of Dominica’s progress in the field of geothermal energy and reiterated the commitment of Government in the areas of energy and climate change.

He used the opportunity to extend an invitation to the US to collaborate with Dominica and the wider Caribbean to further these important initiatives.

Dr. Henderson is expected to present his Credentials as Ambassador of Dominica to the United States of America, to President Barack Obama, during a White House Ceremony In November.

Prior to Dr. Henderson’s appointment as Ambassador to the US and the OAS, he served as Ambassador/ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York for a period of five years. Ambassador Henderson is currently the Executive Chair of SIDS DOCK.

He replaces His Excellency Hubert Charles who held the position of Ambassador of Dominica to the United States and the OAS from 2010.
