Edgar Hunter Elected As UNCCD V.P for Latin America-Caribbean Grouping

Focal Point and Senior Technical Advisor in the Ministry of Environment Edgar Hunter has been appointed Vice President of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), for the Latin America-Caribbean grouping.

He was appointed at the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15) last week.

Mr. Hunter was elected along with H.E Reina Sotillo of Argentina, as the representatives for The Group of Latin America and the Caribbean, and will serve as Vice President until the next COP in 2024.

Minister for the Environment Cozier Frederick told DBS News, this appointment is a testament of the Ministry’s work.
