We announce the death of Evander James Joseph, 87, of St. Joseph, residing in Canefield who died on
Monday May 24th 2021, at his residence in Canefield. Mr. Joseph was a former Deputy Commissioner of
Police, and Magistrate.
He is survived by:
Children: Bernadette Joseph in NJ; Marilyn Joseph-Durant in Florida; Dr. Andrea Joseph in NY;
Wenmouth Joseph and Rowena Lizin, Esquire in California; Conrad and Charles Joseph, and Albert
Parillon in Dominica.
Grand children: Jonelle Joseph and James Joseph in California; Penelope Lizin in California, Sean Joseph
in Florida;
Sister: Ucilla Casimir in the England
Numerous nieces and nephews including: Saran and Asquith Edward Collins in Dominica; Alice Joseph
Guadeloupe, Catherine, Gretchen and Heather in the United States
Several family members in St. Joseph and Salisbury; the Rivieres Family including Sonn Riviere, Para
Riviere and William Riviere; the entire Vidal family including Vanty Vidal and Jonathan Vidal; The Dorsett
family, his doctor, Portia Meade.
His caretakers: Ysabel Roja and Eugenia
The Prime Minister of the Common Wealth of Dominica and the Dominica Police Force.

Council on Aging.
The body of the late Evander James Joseph will be transported from Lyndhurst Funeral Home for
viewing at 2:30pm at the Roseau Cathedral Chapel on Friday June 4th 2021. Funeral Mass begins at
3:00pm followed by Interment at the Roseau Catholic Cemetery.
