Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says a feasibility study will be undertaken to determine the possibility of establishing an underground network of electric lines and cables along the entire West Coast.
The Prime Minister says Hurricane Maria has further exposed the need to build resilience in the telecommunications sector.
The project is expected to be funded by the European Union.
Mr Skerrit also says that Government intends on undertaking a similar project in the City.
