Relief efforts are underway in Barbuda as much needed aid and relief supplies have begun to arrive to the country decimated by the passage of Hurricane Irma.

CEO of the Antigua Port Authority Darwin Telemacque told DBS this morning that the first team responders are braving the rough seas to bring in relief.

Antigua’s Cabinet has since declared a state of Emergency.

The government has also issued a hurricane watch for Antigua pending impact of Hurricane Jose.
