Foreign-Based Talents Strengthen Dominica Women’s Squad for World Cup Qualifiers

Foreign-based talents will headline Dominica’s senior women’s national football team as the squad prepares for the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers on Saturday. Several overseas players have been drafted into the team, bringing added depth, experience, and confidence ahead of the qualifiers.

Dominica has been placed in Group B alongside Jamaica, Guyana, Nicaragua, and Antigua.

The team opens its qualifying journey on Saturday against Jamaica at the Darren Sammy National Stadium in St. Lucia.

Among the new additions is Chloe Lecointe, who says she is excited to be part of the national setup and believes she can make a significant impact in the squad.

Joining her is fellow overseas-based newcomer Trinity Esprit, who hopes to contribute with her hard work and determination.

United States–based midfielder Eden Lander is another fresh face in the team.

She says she is grateful for the opportunity to wear Dominica’s colours and is looking forward to representing the country at the international level.

Also boosting the attack is goal-scoring standout LeMyah Forde, currently playing in the United States on a college scholarship.

Forde says her experience abroad has been beneficial, and she is eager to embrace the challenge of World Cup qualification.

Meanwhile, Head coach Ronnie Gustave says the team is entering the qualifiers in high spirits and has been significantly strengthened by the inclusion of the foreign-based players.

He believes the added quality and exposure they bring will be crucial as Dominica takes on its Group B opponents.

The full team includes goalkeepers Dymond Daniel, Jewel Harve, and Galisha Lockhart.
The defenders are Sagirah St. Rose, Jarisha Paul, Breanelle Anessa Laurent, Lean Laurent, Kimra Joseph, Jessica Pierre-Louis, Trinity Esprit, Whitney Charles, and Daniella Laurent.

The midfield unit features Timecia Pierre-Louis, Rosalinda Paul, Kenisha Jno Lewis, Alianne George, Chloe Lecointe, Eden Lander, Kimara Felix, and Nyomie Defoe.

The strikers selected are Britney Dennis, Starr Humphreys, and LeMyah Forde.

The team is coached by Ronnie Gustave, with Sheldon Casimir serving as assistant coach, and Regina Walsh as the team manager.
