Sports Coordinator in the Ministry of Sports, Trevor Shillingford, has praised the government’s investment in the Dominica Under-15 cricket team, calling it money well spent following the team’s recent success.
The Dominica team were crowned champions of the 2025 Windward Islands Winlott Under-15 Cricket Championship, going undefeated throughout the tournament. The team previously won the title in 2023 and finished runners-up in 2024 after losing the final by a single run.
Shillingford said the achievement highlights the value of supporting youth cricket and the effectiveness of the junior cricket programme in developing talented players from the grassroots to national level.
He adds that the latest success further reinforces Dominica’s growing reputation for producing quality young cricketers at the regional level.
