Government outlines plans for creation of 1,100 jobs for individuals affected by Hurricane Maria

Cabinet Secretary Steve Ferrol has said that the initiative by the Government to create eleven hundred jobs for those displaced by Hurricane Maria is not part of Government’s existing National Employment Program.

Last week, Prime Minister Roosevelt Slerrit announced this new initiative from Government to assist those who have lost their incomes and are unable to  meet their commitments following Hurricane Maria.

Cabinet Secretary Steve Ferrol says the Program will be fully operational from March 1st, 2018.

Mr. Ferrol says in cases where those affected have creative self employment ideas, they will be referred to other agencies within the public sector like small business development program.
