Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says Government is impressed with the works underway on the construction of the New York Valley Bridge in the Layou Valley area.
The Bridge which was washed away during Tropical Storm Erika is being financed through a grant by the Peoples Republic of China.
The Prime Minister along with members of the Cabinet visited the construction works on the site Tuesday afternoon.
PM Skerrit says works on the rehabilitation of the roads within the Layou Valley will be funded through a loan from the Caribbean Development Bank.
Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, His Excellency Lu Kun was also in attendance.
He says the bridge continues to represent the good relations between the People’s Republic of China and Dominica.
Meantime, Parliamentary representative for the St Joseph Constituency, Kelvar Darroux says the bridge once completed will transform the Layou Valley area.
