Government announces scholarship in honour of Kurt Matthew

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that a scholarship will be name after DBS’ Station Engineer Kurt Matthew, who died in a traffic accident on Sunday evening.

He says the scholarship will enable a young Dominican to pursue studies to become a qualified technician.

The 48-year-old Kurt Matthew received national acclaim for his efforts in restoring radio broadcast in the immediate aftermath of hurricane Maria.

Prime Minister Skerrit says Kurt Matthew possessed qualities which should be emulated.
