Minister for Sports Oscar George says government is moving ahead with plans to provide annual financial subventions to sporting associations, as outlined in the 2025 National Budget.
Speaking on the initiative with DBS Sports, Minister George noted that while sporting associations operate independently, the government believes targeted financial support can assist with their development and sustainability.
According to George, the proposed subventions are intended to support grassroots sports development and assist with the general management and operations of associations.
