A newly renovated sports facility in Trafalgar, upgraded at a cost of over $1 million, was officially unveiled on Friday under the Basic Needs Trust Fund 10 (BNTF10) project.
Minister for Community Development, Gretta Roberts, underscored the vital role of sports in promoting unity, healthy lifestyles, and positive youth development, as she addressed residents and stakeholders at the unveiling ceremony.
Minister Roberts described sports as a powerful social catalyst, noting its ability to bring people together across communities and generations.
She further emphasized that the long-term success and sustainability of the facility will depend on a strong sense of community ownership and responsibility, encouraging residents to protect and properly utilize the space for the benefit of current and future generations.
The upgraded facility is expected to play a key role in community development and youth engagement as Trafalgar continues to benefit from targeted infrastructure investments under the BNTF10 programme.
