Grogg to Know Fate on May 5

US national Jason Grogg now on remand at the Dominica State Prison, could know his fate on May 5.

Grogg facing charges of possession of a firearm, ammunition and trafficking firearm and ammunition at Woodbridge Bay Port in 2O21, pleaded guilty.

However, Magistrate Michael Laudat says he will be fined forty thousand dollars ($4O, OOO) for the offenses, but a means test conducted into his finances shows he is unable to pay.

His lawyers Julian Prevost and Jilane Prevost argued in court on Thursday April 27, that they have raised twenty thousand dollars ($2O, OOO) to date and could pay the amount to secure his release.

Grogg told the court he would be prepared to face a jail sentence to ensure his wife is released from the state prison, where the she is also on remand.

His wife, Jennifer, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Grogg is to return to court on May 5, when the magistrate will take a course of action.
