Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says China’s commitment of friendship to Dominica should not go unnoticed, saying that they have exceeded expectations as a friendly government.
He made the remarks at the ground breaking of the Chinese funded $53M rehabilitation project of the E. O Leblanc Highway, Tuesday afternoon at Macoucherie.
Road works became necessary following the ravages of Tropical Storm Erika in 2015.
Mr. Skerrit says China continues to remain a true friend to Dominica.
The Prime Minister says China’s commitment to the people of Dominica despite the undermining of its friendship by some must be commended.
Meantime, Charge D’ Affairs at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, Wei Wenxiu says works are expected to be completed by early 2019.
He also says the road works highlights the level of friendship between Dominica and the People’s republic of China.

The rehabilitation works are being undertaken by Chinese construction company Ching Daw and will see the construction of 3 bridges and address numerous road edge failures along the E.O Leblanc Highway.
