Jewelle George is Dominica’s 2016 Ti Matador

Nine year old Jewelle George of St. Martin’s Primary School is Dominica’s Ti Matador 2016.

She was a crowd favorite at the pageant which was held at the Arawak House of Culture on Saturday.

She also captured the awards for Spectacular Creole Wear, Best Pawol Creole and Best in Jupe.

In an exclusive interview with DBS News, the new Ti Matador said she wants Kweyol to be taught at schools.

Her mother, Palloma Mark says she is proud of her daughter’s hard work.

First runner-up position went to Marci Savarin of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School while Kahanna Blanc of the Grand Bay Primary School took the second runner-up position.

Five primary schools competed in the pageant.
