
We announce the death of Justina Rosemond John Lewis popularly known as “Nurse Jussie”
Aged 86 from Grand Bay
She died at her son’s residence in Wotten Waven on Thursday, 2 nd January, 2020.
She’s left to mourn 4 sons: Eustace Romain in Chicago, Davidson Bertrand in London, Fitzroy St. Jean in
Guadeloupe and Algernon Ducreay on Dominica.
2 brothers: Marcellineus John Lewis in Georgia and Theophilus John Lewis in Guadeloupe.
1 sister in law: Deltona John Lewis in Georgia.
2 daughters in law: Joan Augustus Ducreay in Dominica and LaDonna Romain in Chicago.
2 grand-daughters in law: Amanda Ducreay in Dominica and Deanna Ducreay in New York.
4 nephews: Rodius and Awall John Lewis in Guadeloupe, Kelvin John Lewis in Georgia and Joey John
Lewis in Dominica.
4 nieces: Nadia, Sylvie and Odil in Guadeloupe and Marina John Lewis in New York.
13 grandchildren: Bonnel Henderson, Dr. Adele Mason Bertrand, Nadine Bertrand, Ingrid Bertrand
Fresneda, Jared Romain, Sabata, Curly, Dan and K-mal St. Jean, Yanif, Yanon, Kendel, Yanika and Yana
Ducreay.
12 great grandchildren: Yannika, Yandel, Armani, Yanira and Adijai Ducreay, Bonnel Andrew-Henderson
Jr, Mernel, A’daja, Nathan, Prestyn and Jayceon, D’ailamayé St. Jean.
Several relatives including Octavia “Punny” Browne, Margaret Dangleben, Cyril and Josephine, Pius, St.
Claire, Daily and Christina St. Luce, Ken Buntin, Marcel John and Gweneth Pacquette .
Several grand nephews and nieces in Guadeloupe, Dominica and the USA.
Close friends including: Julie Bellot, Nurses Juliana Commodore, Claudia Joseph-Francis, Justina Riviere,
Olivia Williams, Rebecca Eusebe, Maria Moise and other nurses of the Grand Bay Health Team.

Lewis, Fr. Nigel Karam, Ronald Charles Dr. Irving Mc. Intyre, the John Lewis family in Grand Bay and

The body of the late Justina Rosemond John Lewis popularly known as “Nurse Jussie” will leave
Lyndhurst Funeral Home for viewing at 2:30pm at the Grand Bay Catholic Church on Wednesday, 15 th
January, 2020. Funeral Mass takes place at 3:00pm followed by interment at the Grand Bay Roman
Catholic Cemetery.
