Lockdown measures implemented in the community of Grand Fond one week ago were lifted this morning.

The measures were put in place to limit access to the area, after a few COVID- 19 cases emerged.

In an address to the community, Parliamentary Representative for Grand Fond Gretta Roberts applauded the efforts of individuals who contributed to the safety of residents during the lockdown, including police officers and health teams who conducted testing.

The MP thanked residents of Grand Fond for ensuring the safety of all Dominicans, through compliance with lockdown measures.

Roberts urged individuals to continue observing COVID- 19 protocol, and to encourage vaccination among peers.

In a salute to Grand Fond residents in quarantine, she said “We wait patiently to welcome you back home”.
