Magistrate Gloria Augustus says reform of systems to handle Child Justice matters is greatly needed in Dominica, to promote the rehabilitation of juveniles.
Her comments came at the start of a training for police officers of the Southern Division on the Child Justice Bill, which could soon be taken to parliament.
The bill seeks to improve the way juvenile matters are handled, and aims to divert such cases away from the court.
Augustus says under the new bill focus will be placed on rehabilitation.
