Marigot Sunrise Claim 2025/2026 Neville “Moose” Pierre Basketball Title

Celebrations are likely to continue throughout the week in Marigot after the Sunrise team defeated the Dr Darroux Pichlien Sports Club Falcons to capture the 2025/2026 Neville “Moose” Pierre Basketball Tournament title on home court last night.

Sunrise capitalized on home-court advantage and delivered a strong defensive performance to secure a 53–47 victory in wet conditions at the Weirs Hard Court, clinching the league championship for the first time.

Cody Hamlet led all scorers with 23 points for Sunrise, while captain Ethan Boland contributed 11 points and Jimmal Peltier added 12 in the title-winning effort.

The Falcons were led by Karim Daniel with 14 points, while Kijuan Thomas chipped in with 12, but were unable to overcome Sunrise’s defensive pressure down the stretch.

Following the final whistle, Sunrise captain Ethan Boland described the championship win as a proud moment for the village of Marigot.

Falcons head coach Yannick Regis said poor shooting proved costly for his team.

At the end of the tournament, the Falcons received $500 and a trophy for their second-place finish, while the Sunrise team walked away with $1,000, a championship trophy, and championship rings.
