Shani Haynes representing Massacre has captured the “Madame of Madames” in the 2016 Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada cultural show at the weekend.
She was also adjudged Best in Costume on her way to winning the title from a field of seven contestants.
The position of first runner up went to Marcella Durand of Petite Soufriere while Fallon Lawrence of Roseau secured the 2nd runner up position.
Revelyn St. John took the award for Best in Wob.
The contestants, all former Madams or first runner ups competed in the pageant which was held under the patronage of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for Planning, Economic Development and Investment Dr. Colin Mc Intyre and Coordinator for Diaspora Affairs Athenia Benjamin.
The 2016 Madame of Madames Wob Dwiyet Canada show ran under the theme, “Viva Cissie Caudieron,” in honour of one of Dominica’s national cultural icons.
