The Ministry of Agriculture will implement decisive measures to contain and eradicate the spread of the Lethal Yellowing Disease, which poses a serious threat to the coconut sub-sector on the island.
That’s according to Minister for Agriculture Roland Royer.
The Ministry earlier this month confirmed the presence of the Lethal Yellowing Disease in the community of Woodford hill.
Royer told a press conference this morning that the ministry is working with regional and international agencies to ensure that the measures taken are in line with international standards.

Royer is calling on the public to assist the ministry in eradicating the disease.

Meantime, Representative of the Plant Protection and Quarantine Department Leneser Ferreira says the ministry is positive in efforts to eradicate this disease.
