45 year old Elston Paul of Morne Prosper has been remanded in custody for deception.
Paul is alleged to have committed the offense between December 1st and 10th, 2017 when he attempted to fool Lilian Prince over drinks with a cost of $3,900 dollars.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge of deception, but the prosecution objected to bail on the basis that the accused has other matters of a similar nature pending.
The prosecution said the police are investigating matters of deception of which the accused may be involved and that it will not be wise to grant the accused bail for his own safety.
The accused told the court that he agrees with the police position that for his own safety, he should be remanded in custody.
