Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore has announced a cash incentive of not less than five hundred dollars for the 30 fire officers who were on duty as fire raged through a commercial area in Roseau in the early hours of Monday morning.
At least 5 business places were damaged in the fire, including the upstairs of Jolly’s pharmacy.
Blackmoore made the announcement while presenting two fire trucks to the Fire and Ambulance department.
He said the prompt and efficient work of fire officers prevented further damage in the area.

Meantime, Fire Chief Wayne Letang says these new trucks are equipped with modern technologies that will enhance the operations of the Fire and ambulance service.
