The Dominica National Under-17 Men’s Football Team left the island on Saturday to participate in the CONCACAF Under-17 Qualifiers, scheduled to be played in Panama.
Three overseas-based players have been included in the squad, adding international exposure and depth to the team. They are US-based Houston Dynamo FC midfielder Peyton James, US-based Sports Paradise FC forward Jahmal Alexis, and Marie-Galante–based Union Sportive Grand Bourgeois FC defender, Meddie Zamore.
The full squad comprises goalkeepers; Aiden Burton, Drecoi Alexander, and Edrick Augustine.
The defenders are; Asaph Bannis, Ellon Nyann Pascal, Kerjuan Harris, Jayvon Ricardo Hamilton, and Meddie Zamore.
Midfield duties will be handled by Caleb Dangleben, Carlique Prevost, Che Joseph Etienne, Dwight Walsh, Eion Oscar, Peyton James, Jayan Sanchez Lockhart, Mario T-Jay Lewis, Shirquan Gustave, and Neron Abraham.
Leading the attack are forwards; Jah-Mal Alexis, Roqson Coipel, and Taran George.
The national Under-17 team is coached by former national player Euclid Bertrand, with Wayne George serving as assistant coach. Owen Oscar is the goalkeeper coach, Enoch Lee the team trainer, and Elijah Popo the team medic. The team is managed by Michael Joseph.
Dominica has been drawn in Group alongside Panama, Nicaragua, and Anguilla. The team will open its campaign on February 5 against Panama.
