Hours have been further extended for businesses currently allowed to operate in Dominica.
Cabinet recently approved further amendments to the Environmental Health Services (COVID-19) Regulations S.R. & O 26 of 2021 which came into effect today.
Businesses are now allowed to remain open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm daily.
Proprietors of gyms, bars, gaming establishments, and restaurants are also being reminded to strictly adhere to the health and safety protocols, including physical distancing, sanitizing of hands, wearing of masks, and other protocols published by the Chief Medical Officer.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and New Health, Investment, and the Environmental Health Department has said they will continue to monitor business practices to ensure compliance.
The Public is further being reminded that bars are only open for purchase or pick up only and that there should be no music or congregating on the premises.
Additionally, the wearing of masks is mandatory in all public places, including a public building, business establishment, public transportation, or shared office space.
The fine for non-compliance is $500.00.
A business or establishment must require anyone accessing the business to wear a mask while nightclubs remain closed and restrictions on social activity remain in place.
The public is also being advised that private parties which include any person from outside of the immediate household of the house occupant, recreational or competitive sporting events, any social events; or meeting of a fraternal society, private or social club, or civic association are prohibited.
