Dominican Athlete Dennick Luke has been drawn in heat 5 in the Men’s 800meter event as he begins his quest for Olympic Glory on Friday.
Luke, who hails from the town of Portsmouth, has been training as a student athlete in Jamaica for the past year.
The men’s 800meter event at the Tokyo Olympics will begin at 8:50pm Friday July 30th Caribbean Time. Luke, however, is scheduled to run at about 9:22pm Friday July 30th Caribbean Time.

He has been drawn in Heat 5. I-n total there are 6 heats in the 800 meter event.
The first 3 athletes who qualify in each heat and the next 6 fastest runners advance to the Semifinals.
Luke has made steady progress in the 800 meter event, winning races in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, in the lead up to the Olympics.
He holds a personal best time of 1:49:08 (1 minute, 49.08 seconds), which was set earlier this year at a track event in Jamaica.
