Opposition Leader Lennox Linton Served Court Papers by PM Roosevelt Skerrit

Senior Counsel Anthony Astaphan has confirmed that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has taken the first step in legal action against Leader of the Opposition, Lennox Linton for alleged defamatory statements made against him in the media and public forums.

A letter was today served to Linton on the matter which Mr Astaphan says follows several attempts by the Prime Minister to come to amicable terms with the Opposition.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Skerrit instructed Mr. Astaphan to put together a legal team; to review statements made by Lennox Linton, Gabriel Christian, and Thomson Fontaine, accusing the Prime Minister of corruption over his handling of the Citizenship by Investment Program.

Astaphan says Legal action against Gabriel Christian and Thomson Fontaine will follow.
