Parliamentary Representative for the Soufriere Constituency, Denise Charles-Pemberton, says the expansion of the Poree playing field in Pointe Michel represents a major step forward for sports development in the community, with the project valued at more than $600,000.
Charles-Pemberton described the initiative as a significant achievement for Pointe Michel, explaining that the upgraded facility is expected to position the village to host regional sporting events in the future.
She noted that the playing field is being expanded to accommodate both cricket and football as well.

Charles-Pemberton revealed that the initiative has also received a $100,000 grant from the People’s Republic of China, which has helped advance critical works on the facility.
