Over EC$1bn in Pledges from CARICOM,UN high-level pledging conference

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says estimates so far from the recently held CARICOM/ UN high level pledging conference indicate that Dominica could stand to benefit from over EC$1bn.

According to a UN report, there was over US$1.3bn in pledges and over $1bn in loans and debt relief in the pledging conference held last month.

The Prime Minister has described the conference as a major success.

Meantime, the Prime Minister says that the British Government will fund the rehabilitation for the water system, while Mexico has reaffirmed its position to construct the Marigot hospital.
